My approach to helping
people in transition

Nadia de Klerk is an LLB graduate and a survivor of severe domestic abuse who has turned a decade of personal and academic struggle into a roadmap for others. Having faced the "worst of the worst" in the South African legal system, Nadia realized that the gap between legislation and actual safety is often filled with red tape, complex forms, and "legal jargon" that victims in survival mode simply cannot process.

The Mission Through her work with Divorce Recovery and her debut guide, Safety First, Nadia decodes the South African legal system for those who need it most. She moves victims from a state of "vague fear" to one of "documented facts," providing the practical tools—such as compliance trackers and precision affidavit tables—that the system often fails to provide.

The Perspective Nadia holds an LLB degree, providing her with a deep academic understanding of South African legislation. However, she is not a practicing attorney or advocate. She is a survivor and a dedicated educator who focuses on teaching victims their rights and helping them navigate the practical hurdles of domestic safety applications.

Having navigated the loopholes of the protection order system herself, Nadia understands the high stakes of a court application. She walks alongside her community and identifying systemic pitfalls, so they don’t have to walk the path to safety alone.
